Departments in the WBAQ
Three departments make up the West Bank Arts Quarter: the Department of Art, School of Music, and the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance. A new program, The Interdisciplinary Program in Collaborative Arts, combines faculty from all three departments. The teaching staff is made up of over 100 professors and 100 adjunct faculty members. Faculty members are professionals in their fields: musicians with the Minnesota Orchestra and St. Paul Chamber Orchestra; visual artists who exhibit nationally and internationally; choreographers who routinely create new work that is performed across the globe; and theater directors, performers and playwrights who work with the Guthrie Theater, Children’s Theater Company, Penumbra Theater, and more. In addition, some of the greatest intellects in arts theory teach and conduct research in our departments.
